Trademark

Well, it looks like we are on our way to having This Is Living trademarked.  FINALLY.  Our name will appear in the register for 30 days for any and all complaints to be brought forward.  Once we get through that, we will be issued our trademark in 6 to 7 months.  WOW in case you were wondering, the government really is this slow.

In the meantime, I have been getting quotes for reprinting our shirts and am not liking what I am getting back.  My ebay sales have increased but so have ebays and paypals rates.  It makes me ill that for every shirt I sell with ebay, I have to pay roughly 2 bucks per shirt to them for all their fees.  What a racket!!  Anyway, we are making little to no profit on our shirt sales through ebay but will continue with it in order to get our name out there more until we get our full trademark.

At that time we may suspend individual sales of our shirts and try and market them to business's only.  We will see what happens.

Running out!

Well, I am happy to say we are running out of shirt stock fast.

I am going to have to get some new ones in the works.

Amber and I have both been sick for the last week and I hope we are both finally getting over it. Our trademark is still in the process and I am hopeful that is will come through soon.

Update

We are selling quite well on ebay now.  Hopefully this will help us get our name out there for everyone to see.  I am quickly running out of stock and will need to reprint soon.  That is a good thing.

Workouts -
Tues.  Mandy - jogged 2.0 miles
           Jon - jogged 3.2 miles

We got our treadmill piece in last night, hopefully we can get it fixed tonight or tomorrow and be back running on it some.

Running

Jon and I have started running outside because our treadmill is on the fritz.  We are getting a new part for it but until it comes in we are OUTSIDE.  WHEW, that is hard.  Treadmill running is so much easier on your body than hitting the pavement.

Anyway here are our last few workouts.

Thursday - 2 miles jogging outside
Saturday - 2.3 miles Mandy
                    3 miles Jon

First 5K

Jon and I took the plunge and signed up to run our first 5K on July 18th.  We have been running on our treadmill and just last night the running deck cracked, so we must order a new one!!!  That figures.  Anyway, heres our run 6Th Annual Run To Play 5K

We are excited to be doing it.  Until our treadmill is fixed we will be mostly hitting the pavement and kettlebell workouts.  Once we get our new deck we will continue our treadmill work and still continue to work with the bells 3 times a week.

On tap for today is kettlebell swings and get ups with my 12Kg bell.

My thought for today is CHANGE.  I want to change my life one step and swing at a time and I will continue this forever!

Beauty

We went to a local festival this weekend and Amber got to ride a pony for the first time.  She loved it and then went on to pet all the animals.  It was fun!

Runnin

Jon and I started jogging on our treadmill again.  We both ran on it Saturday and Sunday.  We plan to do this around 4 times a week.  We are hoping to get ready and run in a 5K locally in July. Jon has ran in one before and I never have, I think it will be fun.  It will definitely be swelteringly hot, but it should be fun anyway.

Sat - 1.5 miles
Sun - 2.0 miles

I plan to increase my miles slowly this month and then start running outside in June.  We've got to go buy some good shoes, so I'll be researching this.  We normally prefer New Balance, but we will see what we end up with.

haphazard

So my training today was haphazard at best.  But at least I got some work in.  I was outside with Amber and I had my tiny 6KG bell out in the garage so I thought why not.  Well I warmed up with halos, pass arounds, and slingshots.  My workout consisted of 3 reps each of one handed swings, c & p, followed by snatches, switch hands and repeat.  I did this for 15 sets.  I then did snatches 10 reps per side and did 5 sets of that per side followed by 5 reps per side for 5 sets.  That adds up to a nice little workout.  Then I did swing squats for a lack of a better term.  I would do a swing then fling the bell up to where I had it by the bell and not the handle and do a full squat then once I came back up I would fling it back up some and grab the handle and do another swing.  I repeated this for 20 reps and was really breathing at that point.  I finished it off with some pass through the legs lunges, 20 reps.  It was nice being able to do so much work without getting overly exhausted.  I think I will include this continuous style with no rests with my light bell for variation on my other swing, get-up workouts.  It was a nice change.
